Despite insurmountable evidence to the contrary medical science, and in particular, neuro-psychiatric medication, maintains a stigma, shame and distrust in the general public. On the other end of the implausibility spectrum, firearms remain a pillar of cultural virtue and attempts to regulate their availability is the REAL third rail of American political discourse. We would rather heavily arm our sick and desperate than acknowledge that they are either and that there are legitimate and effective treatments for them. This is a stain that pervades across political boundaries and of which only an unimaginably minuscule segment of our society does not carry with them. It is our most pervasive sin.
